SSLC results: Hassan climbs the ladder; Mandya, Ch’nagar slip

Hassan district secured 84.68% results and climbed up the ladder to the 7th position, from the 31st position last year (69.58% results). Both Mandya and Chamarajanagar districts slipped to lower positions. The girls have outwitted the boys, in all three districts.

B Hima and Kaveriyappa of Vijaya English Medium School with 623 marks stand third in the state. Out of 18,461 students who appeared for the exam, 15,632 have passed. Basavaghatta Government High School, Hassan taluk, has scored 100% results.

Mandya

Mandya district slipped to the 28th place with 71.57% results, from 23rd slot. Out of 19,420 students, 13,899 have passed. The pass percentage of girls is 65.68%, with 6,582 girls passing out of 10,021.

While Maddur tops the list in pass percentage in the district with 82.43%, Srirangapatna stood last with 53.37%.

Speaking to DH, DDPI Surya Prakash Murthy said that the poor percentage of Srirangapatna taluk students was the reason for Mandya slipping to the 28th position. Measures would be taken to identify the weak points and rectify them, he added.

Morarji Desai Model Residential School in Srirangapatna taluk and Government High School at Honnanayakanahalli have secured 100% results.

Chamarajanagar

Chamarajanagar district, which was in the 12th position slipped to the 24th position. However, there is not much difference in the percentage. Out of 9,898 students who appeared for the exam, 7,370 have passed, with an overall percentage of 74.47%.
