A youth was booked under Pocso after a minor delivered a baby boy at Government Ladygoschen hospital in Mangaluru on Wednesday. The accused is Prithviraj, a resident of Sajeepamunnur in Bantwal taluk.
The incident came to light after the 17-year-old pregnant teenager was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday. She delivered a baby boy on Wednesday. Upon enquiry, it was learned that Prithviraj had a physical relationship with the minor 9 months ago but later refused to marry her.
Bantwal Town police have registered a case and investigations are on. Both the minor and the baby boy are healthy.
