BJP alleges EC officials in Kerala acting as CPI(M)'s 'B-team'

BJP state general secretary claimed that an election commission official who faced action for circulating an election commission document with BJP seal was an activist of the NGO Union affiliated to the CPI(M).

Amidst the allegations by the Congress and the CPI(M) that the Election Commission is favouring the BJP, now the BJP in Kerala has come out with a counter allegation that the election commission officials in the state were 'B-team' of the ruling CPI(M).

BJP state general secretary S Suresh said that an election commission official who faced action for circulating an election commission document with BJP seal was an activist of the NGO Union affiliated to the CPI(M).

"He is a leader of the NGO Union's Secretariat Employees' Association. There is a conspiracy against the BJP within the Election commission. A high-level probe is required into the matter," said Suresh.

Meanwhile, chief electoral officer Rathan Kelkar said in a statement that a deputy chief electoral office and section officer, who were on deputation from state service, were discharged from their duties in view of the incident. The two were sent back to their parent departments.
