After Ranveer Singh, Salman Khan's brother-in-law receives threat from Bishnoi gang

Security concerns in Bollywood are being questioned following a string of threat incidents. Actor Aayush Sharma’s name has now emerged as the latest target of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, marking a direct and alarming escalation against Salman Khan’s immediate family members. Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s brother-in-law has allegedly received a threat email, and these new findings regarding Aayush Sharma come just days after a similar extortion attempt was made against Ranveer Singh via WhatsApp.

According to a report by the Mumbai Crime Branch, actor Aayush Sharma received a threatening email sent via Proton Mail, an end-to-end encrypted service designed to protect user identity. The developments come amid an ongoing probe into the January 31 firing incident outside filmmaker Rohit Shetty's residence.

Reportedly, the culprit utilised a secure platform to remain anonymous. This communication allegedly contained claims of a direct affiliation with the Lawrence Bishnoi criminal organisation.

In connection with that case, the Mumbai Crime Branch has invoked sections of the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against multiple accused, suspecting the involvement of an organised crime network.

Five accused were produced before a special MCOCA court on Wednesday, February 11, and remanded to police custody until February 17. Earlier, after their initial hearing, the court had remanded them to custody until February 11, citing the seriousness of the offence and the need for joint interrogation.

While Aayush Sharma and his family have maintained silence regarding the threat, security enforcement has been placed on high alert. Security teams are currently maintaining a round-the-clock vigil to monitor the actor's movements and ensure his safety.
