Actor Kangana Ranaut, widely regarded as one of the popular stars in the Hindi film industry, has over the years garnered a fair deal of attention because of her impressive body of work and outspoken nature. While almost everyone is aware of her achievements in Bollywood, not many know that she once acted alongside Tollywood heart-throb Prabhas in mass director Puri Jagannadh’s 2009 release 'Ek Niranjan'.
The film was an actioner that revolved around the journey of a bounty hunter, played by the Baahubali hero, and had enough ‘masala’ to satisfy the target audience. 'Ek Niranjan' garnered a fair deal of attention with the action scenes, which helped it open to a good response at the box office. It, however, could not reach its potential in the long run as the word of mouth was not too healthy. The film’s cast included Sonu Sood, Mukul Dev, Makrand Deshpande and Satya Prakash.
Coming back to the present, Kangana is going through a busy phase on the work front. The star, on Monday (March 22), won the National Award for ‘Best Actress’ for her work in her magnum opus 'Manikarnika' and 'Panga'.

She will next be seen in 'Thalaivi', which revolves around the life of the late mass leader J Jayalalithaa. The AL Vijay-helmed biggie is expected to touch upon her film career while highlighting her rise in politics. It has a stellar cast that includes Arvind Swami and Prakash Raj, who play MGR and M Karunanidhi. There were talks of actor Balakrishna playing his father Tollywood thespian Sr NTR in the movie but that is unlikely to happen.
Thalaivi is slated to hit screens later this year.
Kangana also has 'Dhaakad' in his kitty.
‘Darling’, on the other hand, will soon be seen in the romantic drama Radhe Shyam. The film has been directed by Radha Krishna Kumar and will hit the screens on July 30. He is working on the mythological movie Adipurush, which features him in the role of Lord Ram.
The Om Raut-directed biggie stars Kriti Sanon as the leading lady and marks her first collaboration with the Saaho star. Saif Ali Khan, who plays the antagonist ‘Lankesh’, and Sunny Singh too are a part of the Hindi-Telugu bilingual.
