'I don't have courage to tell you the truth': H Vinoth on what happened to Vijay's 'Jana Nayagan'

H Vinoth's Jana Nayagan, which is Vijay's final acting project as he has now smoothly transitioned into politics, has been stuck in a limbo for over five months now owing to Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) struggles.

In recent time, the film has suffered a lot of delays and also battled a leak.

However, director Vinoth hasn't publicly addressed the challenges and has maintained silence.

Now, at a promotional interaction for Pandiraaj’s Parimala & Co the filmmaker has finally opened up.

Joining Pandiraaj, Pa Ranjith, Sandy Master and Santhosh for a promotional interview about Parimala & Co, Vinoth has broken his silence.

The host asked him about the release date of Vijay's much-anticipated final film, saying, "Tamil Nadu has already asked you this question; now I’m asking it too. When can we expect Jana Nayagan to release?"

To this, Vinoth had a rather unconventional answer. He responded, "That is not up to me. I don’t even have the courage to tell you the truth. Even if I had the courage, you wouldn’t have the courage to share it. So, lets see when it comes."

The host then awkwardly wished him all the best as the audience cheered in the background.

Starring Vijay, Mamitha Baiju, Bobby Deol and Pooja Hegde, Jana Nayagan doesn't seem to have an official release date as of yet. Even though ticket booking platforms have teased a June release date.

District lists June 19 as the release date while Book My Show simply says 'Releasing in Jun, 2026'.

However, the makers haven't acknowledged the date yet.

But given the current circumstances, the listed release date seem to be a reasonable option given the fact that Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay will be celebrating his 52nd birthday on June 22.
