London Paris New York
Hindi (U/A)
Cast: Ali Zafar,
Aditi Rao Hydari
Director: Anu Menon

.
When Ali Zafar first meets Aditi Rao Hydari at London airport, she is a feminist seething at all things tall, dark and handsome. The “Little Miss Judgmental” is on her way to earn some gyaan on “greater political participation” from a UK varsity.

Anyway, Zafar is fascinated by the creature he just bumped into, and humours her into spending a day with him. After a few wisecracks and jokes around the Big Ben, the nerdy Tam-brahm is ready for her first kiss. And she isn’t bothered anymore that Zafar is a filmmaker’s son who breaks into a song and dance at the slightest female attention he gets (it helps though that Ali Zafar is a great composer and a singer).

It’s yet another love story on the same, tame lines. But what adds zing to London Paris New York is the lead pair who look great together and sound natural too (no drama with dialogues here).

Off to France. Zafar has grown a goatee while Aditi has lost her locks. She has also discovered red lipstick in a big way. And when the two meet again, a few skeletons tumble out of the closet, but they don’t hold back the couple from getting on to bed to take up where they left off in London.

Ali Zafar is good at his craft and uses his boyish charm and verve to fill the holes in film. Aditi Rao complements him, though at times she trusts her lips with all the histrionics.
On the whole, a not-so-bad globe-trot with a great pair.
