Ranveer Singh issues statement after FWICE ban over 'Don 3' fallout with Farhan Akhtar

In a shocking turn of events, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) issued a ban on Ranveer Singh on May 25, urging the film industry to not work with the actor.

The ban comes following his sudden exit from Don 3 and ongoing dispute with Farhan Akhtar.

FWICE insisted that the organisation had sent Ranveer multiple notices before announcing the ban.

Now, Ranveer's spokesperson has issued a statement on the whole controversy.

The statement reads, "Ranveer Singh holds the highest regard for the film fraternity and for everyone associated with the Don franchise. Throughout the recent developments surrounding Don 3, he has consciously chosen to maintain silence, believing that professional discussions and personal equations are best handled with dignity, maturity and mutual respect.

"While several narratives and speculations have surfaced over time, Ranveer has never considered it necessary to respond publicly or contribute to conjecture. His focus remains firmly on his work and the commitments ahead. He continues to hold deep respect and goodwill for all those involved and sincerely wishes the franchise continued success. Choosing restraint and grace in moments like these has always been a conscious decision on his part, and he will continue to maintain the same stance," the statement added.

The action came after filmmaker-actor Farhan Akhtar and production house Excel Entertainment approached FWICE with concerns regarding the actor’s withdrawal from the project at an advanced stage of pre-production.

On May 25, FWICE issued a non-cooperative directive against Ranveer Singh, urging the industry to stand together and discouraging it from working with the actor.

"Considering the conduct displayed towards the Federation and the stakeholders associated with the project, the office bearers of FWICE have resolved to issue a Non-Cooperation Directive (NCD) against Mr. Ranveer Singh," FWICE chief advisor Ashoke Pandit, president BN Tiwari, honorary general secretary Ashok Dubey and treasurer Gangeshwarlal Shrivastav said in a joint statement.

The statement added, "FWICE therefore appeals to all producers, producers' associations, and industry bodies to stand united with the Federation in discouraging and eliminating such unprofessional practices in the larger interest of the Indian film and television industry and all its stakeholders."

The whole feud reportedly started with Ranveer making an abrupt exit from Farhan Akhtar's Don 3, after Dhurandhar's stellar success.

The first two films in the franchise were headlined by Shah Rukh Khan.
