The legendary singer was the first Indian singer to be nominated for the Grammys Awards. She was nominated twice for her contributions to the music world, in 1997 for Legacy with Ustad Ali Akbar Khan and in 2006 for You've Stolen My Heart with Kronos Quartet. 

She is a Guinness World Record Holder

The late singer received the honour in 2011 for being the most recorded artist in music history. She has recorded more than 12,000 solo, duet, and chorus-backed songs over the years.

Asha Bhosle was married twice. She first married Ganpatrao Bhosle,31, at 16 against her family wishes. She later revealed she faced severe domestic violence including abuse and controlling behaviour by her husband and in-laws. She walked out of the marriage in 1960.

Asha Bhosle then married renowned music composer RD Burman in 1980. The couple was considered a legendary pair in the music industry who have created iconic and magical songs together.
