And Shadow is no better. With a fetish for mafia dons and molls, Meher Ramesh revisits his pet subject yet again.<br /><br /> Despite the much-hyped return of Venkatesh, Shadow disappoints. A revenge-cum-action thriller, with a bit of slapdash comedy, Shadow is all blood and gore, as our hero goes on a killing spree avenging his family’s killers.<br /><br /> Lest the film turns out into all fights and fisticuffs, Meher Ramesh also throws in some family drama, pickling it with romance and comedy. But it hardly saves Shadow from its dismal fate. <br /><br />Peopled with undercover journalist Raghubabu aka Raghuram, mafia don Nana Bhai, et al, the film is done in by a poor script, an old-as-hills plot and an inept narration. Venkatesh is a pale ‘shadow’ of his former self while Tapsee is at her sensuous best. <br />Shadow is a mish-mash of several movies and fails to entertain. <br /><br /></p>
