Veteran Telugu actor Pavala Shyamala found on streets after being denied treatment; producer Dil Raju steps up to help

Veteran Telugu actor Pavala Shyamala who is a familiar face as a supporting actor is caught between severe financial and health crisis.

The senior actor who has entertained the audience for decades with her roles in films like Khadgam, Golimaar, Varsham, and Andhrawala was recently turned away from a hospital and was found lying on the street by the police.

Now, producer Dil Raju has stepped up to help the actor in this tough time.

As per reports, as soon as the news went viral, Dil Raju sent his team to the hospital to ensure she received proper treatment.

In a latest video shared on social media, Shyamala is seen on a hospital bed receiving treatment as she and her daughter break down while thanking the producer.

As per reports, Shyamala had visited a private hospital for treatment of a heart ailment. However, she was allegedly turned away due to a lack of funds and sent back in a taxi.

She was then allegedly dropped off at a junction in the middle of the night where locals found her lying on the footpath, helpless, alerted the police. The police then shifted her to the RK Foundation.

"The actress is being treated at our foundation for free for the past two to three years. However, she had to go out since our foundation doesn’t have cardio specialities," Dr Ramakrishna from the RK Foundation told Siasat.

The last few years have been a challenging time for Shyamala both in terms of finances and health. Her financial struggles were first brought to light in 2021, when filmmaker duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK appealed to the public to help the actress through a fundraiser on Milaap.

The situation became so gruesome that the actor had to reportedly sell off her awards to manage monetary needs.

Over the year, several celebrities, including Chiranjeevi and Allu Arjun, have extended support to the veteran actor.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Shyamala has acted in over 300 Telugu films. She made her debut in 1985 with the comedy film Babai Abbai.
