Watch: Vijay pays final tribute to producer RB Choudary, consoles his grieving son Jiiva during last rites

Thalapathy Vijay, who recently made his stellar political debut with a sweeping victory in Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections 2026, has paid his final tribute to late producer RB Choudary. RB Choudary died in a tragic car accident in Udaipur, Rajasthan on May 5, 2026.

The veteran Tamil producer's sudden death sent shockwaves in the industry with emotional tributes pouring in from actors. Vijay also attended the producer's last rites that were held in Chennai on May 6.

The actor-turned-politician paid his final tribute to the veteran producer and was also seen consoling his son Jiiva.

In a video that went viral on social media, Vijay is seen placing a huge garland on the producer's mortal remains. A visibly upset and heartbroken Vijay was then seen hugging the producer's youngest son Jiiva as he cries inconsolably mourning the death of his father.

RB Choudary played an instrumental role in shaping Vijay's acting career by producing his breakthrough hit Poove Unakkaga (1996). The film turned the tables on Vijay's career, who went on to become a Tamil star, after delivering a series of flops initially.

The producer also backed several other successful films of Vijay like Thulladha Manamum Thullum and Shahjahan.

Not only Vijay, but other celebrities, including Chiyaan Vikram, Suriya, Mammootty and Dhanush also arrived to pay their last respects to the late producer.

Notably, RB Choudary was the founder of Super Good Films and has produced films like Suryavamsam, Jilla, Poove Unakkaga, Cheran Pandian, Nattamai, Thullatha Manamum Thullum, Aanandham, and Godfather.

His last venture is Magudam starring Vishal and Dushara Vijayan is currently in production. It is the 99th film under his banner Super Good Films.
