JOIN USThieves broke into a house and decamped with cash and gold ornaments worth Rs 22,000 in Kallalli Beedi in Kodlipet.
Srinivas and his family members had been to Hassan to attend the final rites of his relative when the theft took place.
Valuables including Rs 2,000 cash kept in the cupboard and gold ornaments worth Rs 20,000 kept in a rice container were stolen by the thieves.
A case has been registered in Shanivarasanthe police station.
The police arrested two people on charges of gambling at Karkallibane in Somwarpet.
Shekhar of Hanagallu village and B M Shantakumar of Somwarpet are the arrested. A sum of Rs 20,850 has been seized from the arrested.
Three others namely Raghavendra of Karkallibane, Appanni of Bajegundu and Jagga of Somwarpet are absconding.
