Inching close to its inauguration the Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMRL) received the crucial Commission of Railway Safety (CMRS) authorization allowing the opening of Mettuguda to SR Nagar via Ameerpet Interchange Metro Station.

For three days Mr. Ram Kripal and CMRS team have inspected the metro's various railway systems - civil works, track, RoB, viaduct, stations, electrical, signaling and train control, telecommunication, rolling stock and others.

In a statement here on Monday, Mr. Shivanand Nimbargi, MD, and CEO, L&T Metro Rail (LTMRHL), stated, "This authorization will enable us to operate the Metro trains from Nagole to Miyapur via Ameerpet Interchange Metro Station seamlessly.

"CMRS approval for the stage one Nagole to Mettuguda and stage 2 Miyapur to SR Nagar have already been authorized for commissioning".

The complete stretch from Nagole to Miyapur via Ameerpet would be ready for operations and minor pending works would be completed shortly, the statement added. However, the HMRL so far has not announced the cost of travel.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be inaugurating the Metro rail on 28 November at Miyapur station.
