<p>The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) party chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi’s statement that every child is a Muslim by birth but is converted to other religions by the parents has kicked up a controversy. <br /><br /></p>.<p>“Every person who enters this world is a Muslim,” Owaisi said, while addressing a massive Milad-un-Nabi gathering at the party headquarters here on Sunday.<br /><br />Owaisi said that the real “Ghar Wapsi” is coming back to Islam. “I heard that they (Sangh Parivar) are paying up to Rs 5 lakh for re-conversion. We are Muslims and no amount of inducement will make us leave our faith. Islam denounces forced conversions,” Owaisi told the gathering. <br /><br />He said that the Muslim community is not rich enough to pay for conversion, “but will assure a successful life here and after.” Owaisi wondered how the government could achieve the targeted GDP and industrial growth if the country is dragged into unnecessary controversies.<br /><br />Turning his guns on the Gujarat government which has come under nationwide criticism for portraying certain section of the society as terrorists during a mock drill there, Owaisi said that terrorism has no religion. <br /><br />The AIMIM chief said: “Let the people know that Prophet Muhammad came to end terrorism. If the Gujarat government wants to project itself as a terror-free state in the investor’s summit, let them do it but we (Muslims) have nothing to do with terrorism. Indian Muslims are ready to fight for the country at the borders but are not ready to allow certain forces to vilify Islam.” <br /><br />Owaisi, however, was furious with Islamic State supporters such as Mehdi Masroor Biswas, the Bengaluru-based techie, and termed him as enemy of the nation.<br /><br /> “I demand the arrest of 26/11 mastermind Hafeez Saeed, he has blood of innocent people on his hands,” the Hyderabad MP added.</p>
