<p>The Mumbai Cricket Association found itself in a tight corner on Tuesday with the Congress as well as Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leader Raj Thackeray batting against the imposition of a five-year ban on actor Shah Rukh Khan on entering the Wankhede Stadium.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Around noon, the Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) came out with a statement requesting the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) to lift the ban imposed on the actor whose team Kolkata Night Riders and Mumbai Indians were scheduled to play an IPL match at the Wankhede Stadium.<br /><br />Last year on May 16, after an IPL match, Khan allegedly misbehaved with the security officials; the altercation led to an inquiry and the actor was held guilty. The MCA, led by its former president, the late Vilasrao Deshmukh, imposed a five-year ban on the actor and barred him from entering the stadium premises in south Mumbai. <br />The actor later tendered a public apology for his “misbehaviour”. <br /></p>
