Pawan Kalyan undergoes surgery following health complication; PM Modi wishes speedy recovery

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan underwent a surgical procedure on Saturday following health complication.

The actor-politician has been advised to rest for about a week to 10 days before resuming official duties.

As per a press release from the Jana Sena Party, he has been unwell for the past few months, and experienced health issues during an official meeting on Friday.

"Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan underwent a surgical procedure on Saturday evening," it said.

On Friday he cancelled his official programs after his personal doctors advised him to go to the hospital, where he underwent medical tests and an MRI scan.

Based on the MRI scan results, doctors decided that he required surgery and proceeded with the procedure, the release said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a post on X said that he spoke to Pawan Kalyan and is praying for his good health.

"Spoke to Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Shri Pawan Kalyan Garu and enquired about his well-being. He is remarkably courageous and I am sure he will recover very soon. Praying for his good health," he said.

Kalyan responded to PM's message and wrote, "Thank you, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, for your kind words and for taking the time to speak with me and enquire about my health following the surgery. Your concern, encouragement, and wishes for a speedy recovery give me great strength. I remain grateful for your continued guidance, support, and healing wishes."

Andhra Pradesh Governor S Abdul Nazeer and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu have also wished a speedy recovery to Pawan Kalyan following his surgery.

In a post on X on, Nazeer said, "I wish Kalyan speedy recovery following his surgery. May Almighty bestow the strength on him for his fast recovery and good health."

The Chief Minister said he was confident that Kalyan would regain strength and return healthier soon.

"Sending my best wishes to Pawan Kalyan Garu for a speedy recovery following his surgery. May he regain his strength quickly and come back healthier than ever," said Naidu in a post on X late on Saturday.
