PHOTOS: PM Modi visits tea estate in poll-bound Assam, plucks leaves & interacts with women workers

Ahead of Assembly Elections in Assam, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited a tea garden in Dibrugarh district. He was seen plucking leaves along with women workers at the plantation and interacting with them.

The PM shared some photographs from his visit on social media.

The visuals from his one-day visit to the poll-bound state captured him joining 19 women workers at Manohari Tea estate, plucking tea leaves and placing them into a traditional basket.

He reportedly spent about half an hour at the estate, where he also listened to the concerns of the tea workers and discussed key issues such as education, healthcare and wages.

''We are very proud of the efforts of each and every tea garden family. Their hard work and perseverance have enhanced Assam’s pride," Modi posted on X. ''The plucking of tea leaves was followed by the women talking about their culture and of course a selfie!'' he said in another post.

During the day, the PM will address two poll rallies at Gogamukh in Dhemaji district and Behali in Biswanath.
