<p>Guwahati: Amid efforts to sign "one comprehensive" agreement with all Naga groups to end the over 76-year-old conflict, NSCN-IM, the biggest Naga insurgent group in ceasefire, on Sunday said working with the NNPGs, a forum of six other rebel groups, was a "dangerous proposition".</p><p>"For the NSCN to work with NNPGs is a dangerous proposition. Because NNPGs propagate Naga political solution under the Constitution of India. Moreover, they are not the master of their own. Government of India agency hold the rein. For NSCN, as the torchbearer of Naga political movement will never take the risk by working with the very groups who have compromised the historical and political identity of the Nagas by failing to defend the sanctity of the uniqueness of the Naga history and political situation while talking with the government of India," NSCN-IM Chairman Q Tuccu said as the "Framework Agreement" it signed with the government completed 10 years on Sunday. </p><p>NSCN-IM has been in ceasefire since 1997 and had signed the "Framework Agreement" in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on August 3, 2015. The Naga National Political Groups (NNPGs), also in ceasefire, similarly signed another agreement with the government in 2017 named as "Agreed Position".</p>.Three NSCN insurgents killed during action against extortion bid from NHAI in Assam.<p>While the NSCN-IM have insisted on recognition to the separate Naga flag and Naga Constitution for signing a final agreement, the NNPGs are ready to sign the final agreement without such a condition.</p><p>"NSCN cannot imagine working with such groups who have no respect for the rights of the Naga nation....More than anything else, NNPGs was created by the government of India to counterweight the bona fide leadership of NSCN for Naga political solution and signed the copycat of Framework Agreement under the deceitful name 'Agreed Position'," Tuccu further said.</p><p><strong>Naga conflict</strong></p><p>Many Naga groups including the NSCN-IM claim that Nagas were never part of India and had even declared "independence" on August 14, 1947. The NSCN continued armed movement till signing the ceasefire in 1997.</p><p>The NSCN-IM claim that in the "Framework Agreement" the Centre agreed for a concept of "shared sovereignty" for finding a solution but the Centre rejected such claim saying the outfit misinterpreted the 2015 agreement.</p>
