Artificial CM: Tejashwi's swipe at Samrat Choudhary over his AI-'hara gamchha' remark

Patna: RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Monday took a veiled jibe at Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, describing him as "artificial CM" for his recent remark that AI-powered cameras can detect "hara gamchha" (green scarves), which was seen as an allusion to the opposition party.

RJD workers are known to wrap green scarves around their necks at public gatherings.

Yadav, the leader of the opposition in the Assembly, did not directly refer to the remark the CM made at an event last week to promote the use of AI, but said that Choudhary has "changed his political affiliation ('rajneetik gamchha aur chashma') too often".

He termed Choudhary an "artificial CM" who seemed "helpless" when it came to controlling crime and was allegedly "unconcerned about Bihar and its people".

Choudhary, a senior BJP leader who was with the RJD more than a decade ago, said at the event that cameras equipped with Artificial Intelligence could help the detection of "hara gamchha" (green scarves).

His remark on Sunday evoked an angry outburst from Yadav's estranged elder sister Rohini Acharya, who had been active in the RJD's affairs till a few months ago.

In a flurry of tweets, Acharya slammed Choudhary and alleged that the "BJP is targeting green scarves despite its own cadre being full of goons wearing saffron scarves (bhagwa gamchha)".

Notably, Choudhary, who had joined the BJP only in 2017, became chief minister a month ago after the resignation of JD(U) president Nitish Kumar, who was elected to the Rajya Sabha.
