<p>Renowned playback singer Udit Narayan is again in the news for his marital discord and charges of deception levelled by his first wife Ranjana Jha. In a police complaint filed at <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/bihar">Bihar’s</a> Supaul Mahila Thana (Supaul women police station), Ranjana Jha has charged that her uterus was removed without her knowledge or consent at a prominent hospital in New Delhi.</p><p>In her police complaint lodged at Supaul in Bihar, where she resides, Ranjana said she was married to the singer on December 7, 1984. “Udit, however, left for Mumbai in 1985 to pursue his singing career. Through media reports, I later came to know that he married Deepa Narayan and since then had been staying with her. A case of marital discord and deception is already going on. Udit, though admitted to his first marriage, never gave the status of his first wife nor supported her financially,” she said in her complaint lodged on February 10.</p>.'Fans deewane hote hai': Singer Udit Narayan justifies kissing female fans during concert after videos go viral.<p>“In 1996, I was taken by Udit, his two brothers and his second wife to a prominent Delhi hospital where, under the guise of my treatment, my uterus was removed without my knowledge or consent,” she has said in her written complaint. “I came to know about it (removal of uterus) recently when I visited a doctor for treatment of a different ailment,” said Ranjana, flanked by her lawyer KK Jha.</p><p>Ranjana, who is a resident of Balua Bazar in Supaul, says she stayed with Udit happily till he left for Mumbai to pursue his singing career in 1985. Notably, Udit shot to fame after his songs in the Aamir Khan-starrer ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’ became chartbusters in 1988.</p><p>“When I went to Mumbai two decades ago, I was not allowed to enter his house. Same treatment was meted out to me when I went to my in-laws house, following which I lodged a police case in 2006. Eventually, Udit then promised to support me financially, but he never kept that promise,” said Ranjana, who is now 61-year-old and wants the acclaimed singer to look after her as she is not keeping well.</p><p>“We have received a complaint from Ranjana Jha. We are investigating the matter as the issue is 30 years old. We will proceed further after proper inquiry,” said Anju Tiwari, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Supaul Mahila Thana.</p>
