<p>New Delhi: After spending two years at 10 Janpath with his mother <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/sonia-gandhi">Sonia Gandhi</a>, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/rahul-gandhi">Rahul Gandhi</a> will be moving into a new address soon as he started the process of shifting on his birthday on Thursday.</p><p>Sources said 5, Sunehri Bagh Road, barely two km from 10 Janpath, will be his new address and Rahul is likely to move into the bungalow before the Monsoon Session of Parliament starting July 21. He started shifting his belongings from Thursday.</p><p>The Sunehri Bagh residence was earlier occupied by Karnataka BJP leader A Narayanaswamy, who was Minister of State for Social Justice in the Modi government from 2021 to 2024.</p><p>Since he became an MP in 2004, he was staying at 12, Tughlaq Lane for 19 years till 22 April, 2023 when he vacated it after he was disqualified from Lok Sabha following his conviction in a defamation case. </p>.PM Modi greets Rahul Gandhi on birthday.<p>A notice of eviction sent to him after his disqualification led to a number of Congress leaders and workers offering him their houses for his stay. Rahul had the option of paying market rent and continuing to stay in the bungalow after filing an application but he chose to stay with his mother. </p><p>He continued to stay at 10 Janpath even after the Lok Sabha election and assumed the chair of Leader of Opposition. As Leader of Opposition, he is entitled to a Type 8 bungalow as he holds the rank of a Cabinet minister.</p><p>Last year, Rahul and his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, also an MP, had visited the bungalow to check whether it was suitable. Among the bungalows suggested to him, sources said Rahul had then chosen the one at Sunehri Bagh.</p>
