Bengaluru start-up founder says 'patented wearable' stolen at Delhi AI Summit 'recovered'; netizens ask 'if he's under pressure'

On February 16, Dhananjay Yadav took to X to allege that his company's products were 'stolen' when the event attendees were asked to vacate booths to sanitise the area ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit

A day after Dhananjay Yadav, CEO and co-founder of Bengaluru-based NeoSapien, said his patented products were stolen at the India AI Impact Summit, he posted on X that his devices were recovered with the help of the Delhi police.

On February 16, Yadav took to X, alleging that his company's products were “stolen” when the event attendees were asked to vacate booths to sanitise the area ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit.

In an update shared on February 17, he said that his products were found with the help of city police's "super fast response and support".

"Just wanted to update everyone, our devices have been recovered. Huge thanks to Delhi Police for the super fast response and support," the post read.

Commenting on the post, netizens claimed that Yadav was under pressure and asked for photo and FIR proofs. The incident raised security, transparency, and management concerns, they said and termed it as "unfortunate".

"Hmm, Interesting! This feels more like a damage-control post; possibly put out under specific instructions rather than genuine intent. Anyways, good luck," a comment read.

Another X user wrote, "Bro, I hope you’re safe. I think you’re under a lot of pressure right now take care of yourself. But please share the FIR copy and details of the action taken. Under such tight security, who exactly stole it? Definitely not Tom Cruise." The comment also said, "Transparency clears everything."

Thanks Delhi police

In an earlier post on February 17, Yadav said that the event ran smoother on the second day, "Day 2 of #AIImpactSummit truly delivered on its promise. After yesterday’s chaos, the team from Delhi Police has been extremely proactive and supportive, I am very confident they’ll get to the bottom of the incident."

He thanked the Delhi police for their support as he commended the improvements experienced on day two.

"It’s commendable how the organisers pulled things together overnight and delivered a promising Day 2. Food logistics still need improvement but I’m optimistic it will be sorted soon."

Others who had attended the event highlighted the issues faced during the first day of the summit,

"Day 1 of the AI Impact Summit turned to be a pain for us. I wanted to show up personally to support the ecosystem and the government’s push," Yadav's post on February 16 said.

"We paid for flights, accommodation, logistics and even the booth. Only to see our wearables disappear inside a high-security zone. If only security and official entourage had access, how did this happen? This is extremely disappointing," he added.

A Bengaluru-based organisation, NeoSapien is building AI wearable devices that can track conversations.

The five -day AI Impact Summit was inaugurated by PM Modi on February 16, a high profile event hosted by India this year. The attendees include Google CEO Sundar Pichai, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, and others.
