<p>New Delhi: India is among the top six countries to file patents for the sixth generation (6G) telecom services and would lead the world in the roll out of the new phase of telecom revolution, Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said on Monday.</p><p>“We have built one of the most robust telecommunication networks and systems across the world, which is cutting-edge, customer-oriented, and service-oriented,” Scindia said at an event organised to unveil the theme of the 9th edition of the India Mobile Congress. </p><p>Talking to reporters on the sidelines of the event, Scindia said India has become the fifth country in the world to develop software and radio access networks for providing telecom services. Other countries are China, Sweden, Norway and South Korea.</p><p>He said the 4G telecom stack has been developed in India by the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) in collaboration with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Tejas Networks.</p><p>“While we talk about opportunities such as this, innovation has to be at the core of our existence. In a period of 22 months, we produced the first domestic 4G stack for the world — and India has become the 5th country in the world to produce its own telco stack. DSS — Design, Solve and Scale — has to be our chemical formula in this journey,” he said. </p><p>Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL)’s fourth-generation service will be based on the domestically developed telecom stack.</p><p>“We followed the world on 4G, march with the world on 5G and we will lead the world on 6G,” Scindia said, highlighting India’s preparedness for the next generation of the telecom revolution.</p>.Jyotiraditya Scindia slams Rahul Gandhi for 'habitually' questioning India's unity and integrity.<p>“India today is leading the revolution in the telecommunications space and we have never waited for the future to arrive but have always shaped it. The theme ‘Innovate to Transform’ outlines and underlines the concept that in this journey of transformation has been India's compass,” he said.</p><p>The minister informed that the 9th edition of the India Mobile Congress 2025 will be held from October 8-11 at Yashobhoomi Convention Centre, New Delhi. The theme of this year’s event will be ‘Innovate to Transform’.</p><p>Organised by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), IMC 2025 is expected to attract over 1.5 lakh visitors from more than 150 countries, feature over 400 exhibitors and partners and more than 7,000 global delegates.</p><p>The flagship startup programme ASPIRE, introduced in 2023, will feature over 500 startups and connect them with more than 300 investors, incubator accelerators and VCs for mentorship, live pitching sessions and networking. IMC, Asia’s largest digital technology forum will also witness 800 plus speakers participating over 100 conference sessions.</p><p>“This year, we believe we will be able to surpass last year’s participation, see a large number of startups showcasing the progress of telecom innovation and manufacturing in India and bring eminent speakers covering the entire gamut of telecom. Our dream is that IMC will not only remain a preserve of telecom technologies but will bring all other horizontal tech under its wings,” said Neeraj Mittal, Secretary, Department of Telecommunications.</p>
