Liquor policy case: Kejriwal to argue in person before Delhi High Court in liquor policy today

Former Delhi chief minister and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal will be appearing before Delhi High Court on Monday, in a case linked to the alleged excise policy scam, the party said.

He will be arguing in person before the court. The party said that Kejriwal along with several others accused moved an application seeking the recusal of Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma from hearing the matter.

The AAP leader's plea was filed in response to a petition by the Enforcement Directorate challenging a trial court order that acquitted Kejriwal in a case related to alleged non-compliance with summons during the probe in the liquor policy case.

The Rouse Avenue Court in an order on January 22, had acquitted Kejriwal in the case over skipping summons. It observed that the Enforcement Directorate failed to establish that he had deliberately disobeyed its summons.

The Enforcement Directorate had approached the Delhi HC on March 30, challenging Kejriwal's acquittal in the summons case.
