Following technical glitch, CBSE says Class 12 verification and re-evaluation portal to go live soon

The portal was initially scheduled to go live on May 29, but was postponed to June 1.

The Central Board Secondary Education (CBSE) on Monday said that the Class 12 post-result verification and re-evaluation portal, which was scheduled to go live on Monday but faced technical errors, will be activated soon.

"It will start soon," a CBSE official told ANI.

Currently, the CBSE re-evaluation portal shows an error saying: "This site can’t be reached".

The portal was initially slotted to go live on May 29, but was postponed to June 1.

The Board had said that the portal will go live on June 1 to ensure a transparent and glitch-free process for verification and re-evaluation of answer books of students who intend to submit their applications on the Post-Result Activities portal.

"This is to ensure the highest standards and protocols of evaluation," CBSE had said in a post on X.

Last week, CBSE released an update on its post-result support process, revealing that over 4 lakh applications have been received from Class 12 students seeking scanned copies of evaluated answer sheets.

CBSE had opened access to scanned answer sheets shortly after declaring the Class 12 board results earlier this month.

Controversy erupted over the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system as students soon reported issues such as payment gateway failures, portal crashes, delays in receiving copies, blurry scans, missing pages, unchecked answers, and discrepancies in uploaded answer sheets.

The complaints have since triggered wider scrutiny over CBSE’s newly implemented OSM system, which was fully rolled out for Class 12 board examinations this year.

OSM system continues to face scrutiny

The OSM system was introduced by CBSE to digitise evaluation by scanning physical answer sheets into PDFs and allowing teachers to evaluate them digitally.

While CBSE has defended the system as a move aimed at increasing transparency and standardisation, students and parents have continued to raise concerns over evaluation discrepancies and technical issues.

Amid the growing scrutiny, experts from Indian Institute of Technology Madras and Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur have also been tasked with auditing the technical infrastructure supporting CBSE’s OSM-related portal systems.
