Holding the same portfolio in the NDA 1 regime, Gadkari made a mark by improving the construction of highways from 14 km per day in 2014 to 23 km per day in 2019.</p>.<p>Gadkari earned a name by constructing Mumbai-Pune Expressway when he was a PWD Minister in Maharashtra, successfully used his skill to improve highway construction as well.</p>.<p>The RSS favourite, Gadkari also troubleshooter in the saffron party in Goa. By sorting out the political difference among leaders, Gadkari ensured BJP headed Government at the helm of affairs in 2017 in the southern state.</p>.<p>Impressed with his work as Highway Minister, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had given him Water Resources and Ganga Cleaning portfolio also in the previous dispensation.</p>.<p>Again holding the same portfolio, Gadkari will have hands full of works including the passing of Motor Vehicle Bill, which is pending in Rajya Sabha due to opposition from political opponents.
