Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday said NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar praised the RSS after realising how the outfit managed to overcome the fake narrative spread by the opposition in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. The opposition had claimed BJP wanted to win 400 seats to change the Constitution and end reservations, a narrative which BJP leaders later claimed hit the party hard. 

AAP accuses BJP of vote buying, embezzlement ahead of Delhi polls

AAP on Friday alleged that the BJP is buying votes ahead of the Delhi assembly elections, claiming that the saffron party's Delhi leaders have embezzled funds meant for "buying votes with money".

Addressing a press conference, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh alleged that the BJP has allocated Rs 10,000 per voter to its leaders for buying votes but only a fraction of the money reached the intended recipients.

"Instead of distributing the full amount, BJP leaders allegedly handed out only Rs 1,000 or Rs 1,100 to voters, pocketing the remaining Rs 9,000 for themselves," Singh said.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday said authorities are in the know about the place where the weapons of six Maoists, who have surrendered, are kept, and that they will be brought following due process.

He also defended the Maoists surrendering before the government, which has come under criticism from the opposition BJP, stating that the intention of the administration is to end Naxalism and the people involved in such activities should come to the mainstream giving up arms.

Uttarakhand BJP expels 6 rebel leaders contesting urban local body polls as independents

The Uttarakhand BJP on Saturday said it has expelled six rebel leaders who entered the fray for the forthcoming urban local body polls in the state as independents against the party's official nominees.

The expulsion orders were issued on Friday.

The six rebel leaders, four in Uttarkashi and two in Rudraprayag, have been expelled from the party for six years for anti-party activities on the recommendation of the Uttarakhand BJP president Mahendra Bhatt, said state BJP media incharge Manveer Chauhan.
