In response to the ongoing weather situation, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has set up control rooms to assist residents and travellers.</p><p>Kashmir is currently in the middle of 'Chillai Kalan', the harshest period of winter, which starts on December 21 and lasts for 40 days, offering the highest chances of snowfall. It is followed by a 20-day 'Chillai-Khurd' (small cold) and a 10-day 'Chillai-Bachha' (baby cold).</p>
