Man beaten to death in Jharkhand over 'love triangle'

Villagers alleged that the deceased had an extramarital relationship with a woman

Police on Wednesday said a 45-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death in Jharkhand’s Gumla district over a suspected love triangle.

The attack took place on Monday in Chhichhwani village, which falls under the Chainpur Police Station limits. According to officials, the accused, identified as Kamil Toppo, assaulted the victim during the incident.

The deceased has been identified as Rajendra Kumar Minj.

Gumla Superintendent of Police Haris Bin Zaman said, “An FIR has been registered against the accused. He is on the run. Prima facie, it appears that Minj was killed due to a suspected love affair. However, the matter is being investigated thoroughly.”

The assault occurred while Minj was returning home from a field with his daughter. Villagers claimed that he was allegedly involved in an extramarital relationship with a woman, who was also reportedly in a relationship with the accused.
