<p>Chikkamagaluru: Ten students who had gone trekking in the Ballalarayana Durga forest area of Mudigere taluk and were exhausted were rescued by the police and forest department personnel.</p><p>The group consisted of five male and five female students from various colleges in Chitradurga. The group had hired a Tempo Traveller and came here on a trip.</p><p>They had booked their tickets online and were supposed to begin their trek from the Rani Jhari side. However, when they searched for "Bandaje trekking" on Google Maps, it showed the route via Didape in Dakshina Kannada district. By then, it had turned dark, and they lost their way. With no mobile network, Google Maps stopped working.</p><p>On learning about the situation, Balur Police Sub-Inspector Dileep Kumar, Snake Arif, forest department personnel, and locals entered the forest and searched for six hours.</p><p>The students were traced at around 2 am and were all safely brought back. Among the trekkers were medical students and others from different colleges.They were sent to Chithradurga in their vehicle, police officials said.</p>
