<p>Mysuru: Three police officers have been suspended for falsely implicating a tribal man in the murder case of his wife after her disappearance. </p><p>The tribal man, Suresh, spent two years in jail in the matter.</p><p>DIG, Southern Range, M B Boralingaiah issued an order on Sunday night, suspending Circle Inspector of Kushalnagar in Kodagu district B G Prakash; Sub-Inspector of Ilvala Police Station in Mysuru Mahesh Kumar; and Sub-Inspector of Jayapura Police Station Prakash Ettinamani.</p><p>Last week, during an annual conference of Police officers, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah brought up the false murder case and instructed the suspension of the officers. </p><p>According to Suresh, Mallige went missing on October 20, 2020. He lodged a complaint with Kushalnagar police on November 13, 2020. Bettadapura Police, who found a skeleton on November 12, 2020, presumed it to be Mallige. They told him not to reveal this, when he was produced before the magistrate. He underwent imprisonment for more than two years until he got a bail in the High Court. The DNA report of the skeleton (found by Bettadapura police) was inconclusive. </p><p>On April 1 this year, Mallige was found alive by a neighbour in Madikeri. She was produced before the court on April 4. Judge in Mysuru passed the order, acquitting Suresh on April 23.</p><p>The Fifth Additional District and Sessions Court in Mysuru had reprimanded the Police officers responsible.</p><p>Prakash, who was the investigating officer in the false accusation case against Suresh, was the Circle Inspector of Bylakuppe Police Station then. Mahesh Kumar and Prakash Ettinamani were Sub-Inspectors at Bettadapura police station.</p>
