450 Karnataka Public Schools to be established from next academic year: Madhu Bangarappa

Narasimharajapura: 450 Karnataka Public Schools will be established in the state starting from the next year, Primary and Secondary Education Minister Madhu Bangarappa said.

Speaking to media persons at Taluk Congress office here on Friday, he stated that Rs 2,000 crore has been sanctioned towards the same, by Asia Development Bank (ADB). A request for an additional Rs 500 crore grant has been made to the Chief Minister in the budget. A total Rs 2,500 crore will be utilised exclusively for the infrastructure development at the KPS, the minister said.

Stating that 5,000 teachers will be appointed for Kalyana Karnataka region, Madhu Bangarappa said that other than this, 20,000 more teachers, including Physical education and Hindi teachers, will be recruited.

“Initiation has been given towards filling up the posts of teachers in aided schools, which have been vacant for the last nine years”, the minister said and stressed that transparency will be maintained in the recruitment process.

Demands have been pouring in from MLAs across the state, to sanction LKG, UKG and PU Colleges in government schools. Measures will be taken accordingly, he added.
