<div>Five members of a family from Tumkur were killed in an accident between a KSRTC bus and an MUV near Gedlehalli Gate of the taluk on NH 206 on Saturday morning. <br /><br /></div>.<div><div>Bhageerathamma (82), Vinayaka (36), Vani (22), Padmamma (65) and MUV driver Sharankumar (25) are the deceased. The injured - Madhav Rao, Asha, Rohini, Nagalakshmi and Spoorthi - are being treated at Kadur and Chikmagalur hospitals.<br /><br /></div><div>Return journey<br /><br /></div><div>Members of Bhageerathamma’s family, residents of Someshwara Layout in Tumkur, were returning to Tumkur after visiting various temples, when the accident occurred. They visited Sringeri, Horanadu, Kalasa, Murudeshwara, Gokarna and on Friday night, visited the Goddess at Sigandhur.<br /><br /></div><div>According to the police, the MUV driver was drowsy while driving the vehicle. As a result, the vehicle collided with the KSRTC bus, which was travelling from Thiruvannamalai to Shimoga.</div><div><br /></div></div>
