'Action will be initiated against Anand Singh'

BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa said that a notice has been served to BJP MLA Anand Singh, for taking part in Tipu Jayanti. An explanation has been sought from Singh.

"Appropriate action will be initiated against him", Yeddyurappa said speaking to media persons in Mangaluru on Sunday.

Responding to queries, Yeddyurappa said that the list of MLC candidates has been sent to the party national president Amit Shah. The names will be finalised during the Election Committee meeting to be held on November 15.

Kundapur independent MLA Haladi Srinivas Shetty will officially join the BJP in the first week of January. Currently, there are some technical problems. Seven other leaders will also join the BJP, said Yeddyurappa.

Yatra successful in DK

The Nava Karnataka Parivarthana Yatra organised by the BJP in Dakshina Kannada has been successful, Yeddyurappa said.

The public campaigns conducted as a part of the Yatra in Sullia, Puttur, Beltangadi, Bantwal and Mangaluru had a great reception from the public. The rally will progress towards Udupi and Karwar on Sunday afternoon and Monday.
