B G Somshekhar takes over as BJP Rural Mandal Chief

B G Somshekhar, BJP Rural Mandal newly appointed president, said that he will put in efforts to strengthen the party to bring it to power in the 2018 Assembly elections.

Speaking after taking charge at the BJP district office Panchajanya in Chikkamagaluru on Sunday, he said that the party has handed over a major responsibility to him. He has worked as a party worker sincerely and is proud of the leadership of Narendra Modi, owing to the efforts of whom, the whole world is looking at India.

Appreciating the work of the party workers during the last Legislative Council elections, he sought the cooperation of all leaders and workers of the party towards fulfilling his duties. BJP State General Secretary and MLA C T Ravi said that there is no hereditary rule in the BJP, unlike other parties.

Also, the party provides significance to Indian culture. He told party workers to create awareness among the people on the achievements of the party, and also not to pay heed to the false propaganda of Congress leaders.

Speaking to mediapersons on the slogans raised against Indian soldiers, at a programme ‘Broken Family’ organised by Amnesty in Bengaluru, he said that acts of sedition will not be tolerated. Stating that independence is being misused in the country, he said that shouting of slogans against the brave Indian soldiers is anti-national.
