<p>Bengaluru: A 14-year-old girl died in western Bengaluru after mistakenly consuming herbicide stored in a bottle previously containing aloe vera liquid, the police said.</p>.<p>The police said the incident occurred on March 14.</p>.<p>A preliminary investigation revealed that the girl, who resided in Deepanjali Nagar near Byatarayanapura, consumed the herbicide accidentally.</p>.<p>"Her parents had filled the empty aloe vera liquid bottle with herbicide,” a police investigator told <span class="italic">DH</span>. “The girl drank it, thinking the bottle contained aloe vera liquid. She died on April 1 after failing to respond to treatment. Investigators have registered an unnatural death report (UDR).</p>.<p>"Parents are advised to be cautious when storing pesticides or herbicides at home,” a senior police officer said.</p>.<p>The girl’s father was away at work, while her mother, a homemaker, was there when the incident occurred, the police said. Further investigation is underway.</p>
