<p>Bengaluru: Dr Peter Machado, Metropolitan Archbishop of Bangalore, has been elected as the vice-president of the Conference of Catholic Bishops of India (CCBI), during its ongoing 36th plenary assembly at XIM University, Bhubaneswar.</p>.<p>Cardinal Felipe Neri Ferrao was re-elected as its president. </p>.<p>Machado, ordained as a priest on December 8, 1978, was appointed as the Bishop of Belgaum on February 2, 2006, and as the Archbishop of Bangalore on March 19, 2018.</p>.<p>He also serves as the president of the Karnataka Regional Bishops Council, president of the All Karnataka United Christian Forum for Human Rights, and chairman of the CCBI Commission for Laity. </p>
