<p>Bengaluru: BBMP Chief Commissioner M Maheshwar Rao inspected the underconstruction Ejipura flyover on Friday, and reviewed roads and footpaths along the Inner Ring Road.</p>.<p>He directed engineers to acquire land belonging to St John’s Hospital, where the BBMP plans to build an entry to the ramp.</p>.<p>As per the recent plan, the project is targeted to be ready by December this year, but is unlikely to meet the deadline.</p>.<p>Rao directed engineers to call a meeting with the management of St John’s Hospital to expedite land acquisition.</p>.<p>During the inspection, engineers briefed the chief commissioner, who took charge recently, that the flyover work is being handled by BSCPL Infrastructure Ltd.</p>.<p>“As of now, 416 segments out of the planned 762 have been cast, and 291 out of 762 segments have been erected,” said Raghavendra Prasad, Chief Engineer, BBMP.</p>.<p>Rao also noted that pedestrian pathways on either side of the road were poorly maintained and instructed contractors to immediately take up repairs.</p>.<p>“Drainage systems should be made functional to ensure the smooth flow of rainwater,” he told the contractors.</p>.<p>He also found garbage dumped on the roadside near the Madiwala bus pick up point. He made it clear that municipal workers in the area should begin cleaning at 6 am daily as the area sees high footfall.</p>.<p>Overall, the chief commissioner, along with officials, conducted an inspection from Christ College near Dairy Circle along Double Road, through St John’s College Junction, Madiwala underpass, Koramangala 100 Feet Road, Kendriya Sadan, Ejipura Flyover Road, and up to Sony Junction by foot.</p>
