Bengaluru: Cyclothon 2025 promotes drug-free India with 200+ riders

Bengaluru: Over 200 cyclists converged at Brindavan College of Engineering for 'Cyclothon 2025 – Ride Against Drug Abuse' on Sunday.

The event, themed around 'Say No to Drugs. Yes to Life', brought together diverse groups to champion a drug-free India, according to Sunil KG, Project Director for the Cyclothon.

Organised by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Bengaluru Zonal Unit, the cyclothon was attended by members of the Indian Air Force, the CRPF, Yellow Bicycle Group, various cycling clubs, youth groups and students. The ECOSTP Community managed the event's sustainability and route logistics.

The two-hour ride, covering a distance of 12 km, commenced at 7 am after being flagged off after a collective drug-free India pledge administered by dignitaries, including Ajay Ghorpade, Zonal Director, NCB Bengaluru and community wellness advocate Promilla Aryappa.

A concluding ceremony recognised key contributors, including the Karnataka Bicycle Dealers Association (KBDA), Rotary Club of Bangalore Oasis, Rotaract Club of Bangalore Oasis and ECOSTP Community, for their support in mobilisation, outreach and technical sustainability.
