Bengaluru: Free auto driving, skill development training for women & transgenders

Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy said the government would hold discussions on introducing additional schemes and facilities for the welfare of auto drivers, and appropriate steps would be taken after the state budget.

Bengaluru: Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy on Thursday inaugurated a free auto driving and skill development training programme for women and transgender persons at BTM Layout, in collaboration with BPAC and CGI. 

He said the government would hold discussions on introducing additional schemes and facilities for the welfare of auto drivers, and appropriate steps would be taken after the state budget. 

He hoped that providing free auto driving training to women and transgender persons would help them become economically self-reliant. 

Under its CSR initiative, BPAC and CGI have imparted free professional training to more than 500 women and transgender persons in nine assembly constituencies. The initiative will be expanded to all assembly constituencies in the coming days.
