Bengaluru hotels feeling the heat amid oil crisis? Some city eateries might shut as commercial LPG supply hit

Despite oil companies previously stating that there would be no disruption in gas supply for 70 days, the sudden issue in supply has dealt a major blow to the hotel industry, the statement said.

Bengaluru's hotels are seemingly feeling the heat for the oil crisis amid the Iran war as Bangalore Hotels Association on Monday said that the supply of commercial gas cylinders has been stopped, which has led to creating a major crisis for the hotel industry.

"Since the hotel industry falls under Essential Services, this disruption will cause significant hardship for common citizens, senior citizens, students, and those in medical or other essential services who depend on us for their daily food. Until the gas supply returns to normalcy, the hotel industry will face a severe crisis," a statement from the association said.

The statement said that despite oil companies previously stating that there would be no disruption in gas supply for 70 days, the sudden issue in supply has dealt a major blow to the hotel industry. "Therefore, we urge the concerned Union ministers to intervene immediately, take appropriate action, resume the commercial gas supply, and support the hotel industry."

Due to the stoppage of gas supply, hotels will remain closed starting tomorrow, it said.
