BMRCL hosts Electrical Working Group meeting of metro organisations

Bengaluru: Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) hosted the second meeting of the Electrical Working Group (EWG) of the Indian Metro Rail Organisations Society (I-Metro) in the city on February 26 and 27. 

I-Metro was constituted by the Centre as a collaborative platform for metro rail corporations across the country to share knowledge, experience, technical expertise, innovations and best practices in urban rail transport. It also aims to address technical, statutory and administrative challenges faced by metro organisations, while working collectively to enhance system performance and operational excellence. 

Twenty-two delegates from 16 metro rail organisations participated in the two-day meeting. Deliberations focused on key electrical sub-systems, including traction systems, lifts and escalators, air-conditioning and tunnel ventilation systems. 

The discussions emphasised improving operational efficiency, enhancing reliability, optimising project timelines, and addressing emerging challenges in metro rail implementation and maintenance, BMRCL said.
