Chaos in Namma metro: 11 booked after singing, creating disturbance in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: Eleven female passengers were booked under a non-cognisable report (NCR) following a disturbance inside a Namma Metro train on March 15 night.

According to officials, the incident occurred around 10.57 pm on a train travelling from BIEC towards KGWA. A group of female passengers began singing loudly inside the coach, leading to objections from other commuters.

Complaint by BMRCL Security Officer to Peenya police over delaying train 20 minutes

At Peenya Industrial area station, some of the passengers got down and continued the argument on the platform, briefly obstructing the closing of train doors. Security staff intervened and managed to restore order.

The same group allegedly created nuisance at multiple stations, including Goraguntepalya, Sandal Soap Factory, Mahalakshmi and Kuvempu Road. Metro security personnel and home guards identified and apprehended the troublemakers in phases, with assistance from Hoysala patrol teams.

Based on a complaint filed by BMRCL Security Officer Gajendra P, Peenya police registered an NCR against 11 persons.

All the accused later apologised. The NCR has been referred to court, and they will have to pay a penalty.

Officials said metro security staff handled the situation and ensured normal operations resumed without further disruption.
