<p>A compound wall of an institution belonging to former Union minister C M Ibrahim at Nagawara and a house at Myadarahalli in Shettihalli ward which were encroaching on stormwater drains were razed on Tuesday.<br /><br /></p>.<p>After a gap of almost a month, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) resumed the stormwater drain encroachment removal drive at three locations in the city, mainly targeting vacant sites situated on the now disappeared drains.<br /><br />The drive commenced in areas under BBMP's East zone, Dasarahalli and Yelahanka.<br /><br />“We removed the compound wall of the institution belonging to C M Ibrahim. There was an encroachment along a length of 150 metres and width of four metres on the stormwater drain, which was cleared,” said BBMP chief engineer Siddegowda. The value of the encroached land is worth Rs 6 crore, he said. <br /><br />At Dasarahalli zone, a building was razed in Myadarahalli village under Shettihalli ward. The family was served a notice to vacate the place for demolition after which major portion of the building was bulldozed.<br /><br />At Srinivasapura and Harohalli under Yelahanka zone, 22 vacant sites were recovered and trenches were dug. There is an encroachment of a 700-metre-long stormwater drain in these two places.<br /></p>
