Contractor fined Rs 50,000 for poor SWD maintenance

Bengaluru: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has imposed a penalty of Rs 50,000 on the contractor for poor maintenance of storm water drains (SWD) in the Koramangala Valley.

In a release, BBMP said that the annual maintenance work near Kanteerava Stadium was not up to the mark and hence, according to Sections 41(1) and 41(2) of the annual maintenance contract, a fine was imposed.
