A huge tree that came crashing down after a lorry rammed it on Ulsoor Main Road last Wednesday is yet to be cleared.

Shahineh Mansoorian, who owns a furniture shop, said: “Though the Forest department cleared the trunk of the tree the same day, the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike took two days to clear its branches that lay scattered on the main road resulting in traffic snarls.”

As the branches of the tree remains uncleared, pedestrians, motorists and shopowners have a tough time navigating their way through the road.

The driver of the lorry who hit the tree fled  and the authorities concerned took away the vehicle the next day. As a result traffic on the stretch came to a grinding halt for an hour and a half, shopowners said. “If the Palike refuses to clear the branches soon, we shall dump them on its premises,” said a resident.
