<p>Bengaluru-based fitness influencer Afreen Khan was crowned the ‘Face of South’ at the ‘Mrs India Earth 2018’.</p>.<p>She says, “It is not just beauty or the way you look. A lot of women from various walks of life participated in this pageant. I was applauded for my physical strength at the pageant.”</p>.<p>Detailing on her journey of becoming a fitness model, Afreen, who had weight issues, says she got into fitness once she started facing problems post the birth of her daughter (now 5). </p>.<p>“My journey of fitness has been inspirational to many women who think that they can’t concentrate on their health and body post-marriage or after becoming a mother,” she notes.</p>.<p>The fitness influencer says that she wasn’t athletic when she was young but was able to break that mental block once she started learning and working towards fitness.</p>.<p>When asked about the fitness trends in India, she opines that fitness is not about how one looks but what they can do with their body.</p>.<p>“Most of them aim for 6-pack abs or a bikini body; the idea of fitness is misunderstood here,” she adds.
