From April 1, cars to pay Rs 355 for one-way travel on Bengaluru-Mysuru highway

Bengaluru: Starting April 1, the one-way toll for cars travelling to Mysuru on the access-controlled highway will be increased to Rs 355, with a 3% increase coming into effect. 

The increase in toll rates is a part of an annual inflation-related hike. Overall, rates at about 62 toll plazas across the state have been revised as part of the exercise. The toll rates are increased in line with the Wholesale Price Index (WPI). 

Cars, jeeps and vans travelling to Mysuru will pay Rs 180 at Kaniminike and Sheshagirihalli toll plazas, and Rs 175 at Gananguru toll plaza, compared to the earlier rate of Rs 175 and Rs 170, respectively. 

The rates for minibuses and light commercial vehicles (LCVs) have increased from Rs 555 to Rs 565. Rates for trucks, buses and heavier vehicles have also been increased.

At the airport toll plaza in Sadahalli, car toll remains steady at Rs 120, but the LCV category will pay Rs 190, up by Rs 5. Charges for trucks and buses have been raised to Rs 375, while multi-axle vehicles will now pay Rs 575, reflecting a Rs 15 hike.

Oversized vehicles will see one of the steeper increases, from Rs 725 to Rs 745. Toll charges for LCV and heavier vehicle categories at Bagepalli and Gadduru toll plazas on the highway to Hyderabad have also seen proportionate hikes, while charges for cars, jeeps and vans remain the same. 

Toll charges for cars on the Bengaluru Satellite Town Ring Road (STRR) have also been hiked by 5-6%, said an official from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). Cars and vans will now pay Rs 85, compared to the earlier fee of Rs 80, at Nullur toll plaza (Dodaballapur Bypass to Hoskote), and Rs 110 instead of Rs 105 at the Hullikunte toll plaza (Dobbspet to Dodaballapur Bypass), with proportionate hikes across larger vehicle categories. The revised toll charges will be applicable till
March 31, 2027. 

Fee at the Electronics City toll plaza is set to be revised in July, the official added. Additionally, a few more toll plazas are expected to see fare revisions later in the year.
