<p>The police arrested two students of a private commerce college in Chamarajpet on charges of abducting their classmate on Tuesday night. The suspects were identified as Farkhan Ahmad, 18, a resident of Old Guddadalli and Sandeep, 18, of Chandra Layout. <br /><br /></p>.<p>According to the police, the victim was a 17-year-old girl. She was in love with Ahmad. The victim’s parents had decided to finalise her wedding with someone else once she turned 18. <br /><br />However, she wanted to marry Ahmad but thought her parents would not approve of her choice as Ahmad was from a different religion.<br /><br />She hatched a plan to elope with him and asked Ahmad to meet her near the Santoshi Ma temple on Cottonpet Main Road on Tuesday night. Ahmad sought Sandeep’s help as he thought Sandeep might have an easy entry inside the temple to spot the girl if something went wrong. Sandeep agreed to accompany Ahmad, said the police.<br /><br />She had saved Ahmad’s number as Simran in her mobile phone and kept sending him messages when she entered the temple. She deleted all messages in her phone, gave it to her mother and came out of the temple saying she would return soon. Ahmad then sent her a message asking her to come out, said the police.<br /><br />According to the plan, Ahmad took her to the garage in his house at 10.30 pm. He panicked and requested her to return home, but she refused. She slept inside a car in the garage, while Ahmad went into his room, said the police.<br /><br />The victim’s parents made unsuccessful attempts to trace her. The victim’s elder sister noticed Ahmad’s message in the victim’s phone and dialled the number. Ahmad answered the phone but hung up immediately. <br /><br />The parents approached the police and lodged a complaint.<br /><br />Based on instructions from the police, the elder sister contacted Ahmad and told him that her mother had suffered a heart attack. Ahmad was shocked, went down and informed the victim, who refused to return home. She relented after Ahmad repeatedly pleaded with her, said the police.<br /><br />She slashed her neck and arms with a broken piece of glass to cook up a molestation story. Ahmad dropped her near her house around 3.30 am, added the police.<br /><br />She claimed that three unknown men abducted her from the temple in a car, took her to an undisclosed location and gang-raped her. She showed the injuries as proof, said the police.<br /><br />There was no clarity in her versions. The police questioned her thoroughly and she disclosed the truth. She was subjected to medical examination which confirmed there was no molestation, said the police.<br /><br />“The girl is extremely brilliant and has scored around 98% in all her previous examinations. The police have booked Sandeep and Ahmad under IPC Section 363 (kidnapping). They duo were remanded in judicial custody,” said the police inspector.<br /> </p>
